2025 7/7-7/13 Week in Review

Next week: 2025 7/14-7/20 Week in Review

Previous Week: 2025 6/30-7/6 Week in Review

This week was rainy. We got 2 3/4″ total the whole week.

Temperatures are cooler but not cold. The dallisgrass is probable the bulk of their diet in some parts of the row.

Monday 7/7

The animals don’t appear to be eating too much grass.

Tuesday 7/8

Yellow gave birth to a new bull calf.

New row: 720′-640′.

Tuesday evening we had a bunch of rain.

Wednesday 7/9

We got nearly 2″ of rain last night. It was pretty crazy. The ground seemed to absorb it all.

Another crazy thing: We still have clovers in the middle of July.

Some of the sheep are limping. I need to inspect their hooves.

I’m trying an experiment where the animals are rushed through the middle of the row and with smaller sections at the end of the row, to try and get them to spend less time in the middle.

Thursday 7/10

I wasn’t able to move them last night, so the experiment didn’t happen.

Lots of dallisgrass and they’re leaving plenty behind.

Blue’s calf gave me a new white heifer.

Friday 7/11

EWE 0011 is doing really, really well. Remember she was on death’s door in the winter.

New row: 800′-720′

Saturday 7/12

We got 3/4″ of rain.

Sunday 7/13

A little more rain, less than 0.1″.
