It came suddenly, but it is definitely here. Last week we all had allergies really bad. This week, the trees have started to turn green and the grass is growing very fast. There is already enough grass that the sheep (leading the cows) may not need hay at all.
I’m not going to start the spring grazing pattern just yet. I want the grass to grow a lot more before rushing the animals through the pasture. I’ll keep moving them slowly and rolling out hay until I’m confident that the grass is optimal for grazing.
