2024 7/8-7/14 Week in Review
Monday 7/8 Starting off the week, #24 was limping quite badly. It could be because of the bull, it could also be any other number of things. Thankfully, the problem resolved itself. Tuesday 7/9 Hurricane Beryl, or the remnants of it, passed us by. Wednesday 7/10 Thursday 7/11 Friday 7/12 We finally got the other… Continue reading 2024 7/8-7/14 Week in Review
#48 is born to Young #20
#40 is born to young #20 on Monday July 29th, 2024. Old #20 is a little too young to breed but it worked out ok. Since this was unexpected, that means I won’t be expecting a calf from young #20 in April. I might have to sell her off when the calf is old enough… Continue reading #48 is born to Young #20

Monday 7/1 Tuesday 7/2 I put the ram on the sheep. The other ram stayed behind. I moved Rammy in too, but he is probably too young to breed effectively. A note about droughts: All droughts are local, and the best thing to do is not to overgraze. Watch and plan your grass and consumption,… Continue reading 2024 7/1-7/7 Week in Review
2024 6/24-6/30 Week in Review
The weather is still warm. We got some rain on Wednesday. Monday 6/24 Tuesday 6/25 The way the cows eat the dallisgrass makes it look like it is overgrazed after one bite. Dallisgrass doesn’t grow leaves that go very tall. The seed heads shoot up but the leaves stay low to the ground. When the… Continue reading 2024 6/24-6/30 Week in Review
2024 6/17-6/23 Week in Review
Monday 6/17 Tuesday 6/18 Wednesday 6/19 Thursday 6/20 The weather is hot and humid, and we haven’t had rain for over 2 weeks. There is no real forecast for rain, and it’s likely we are in a drought and just don’t know it yet. Friday 6/21 I noticed that the cows eat the dallisgrass much… Continue reading 2024 6/17-6/23 Week in Review

Treating #36
#36 is a ewe that presented with severe hoof problems. I was finally able to catch her and apply 5% Copper Sulfate solution and Footcure with a wrap. She also broke her hoof wall which probably caused a lot of pain. It took her a while but she fully recovered after about a week.
