2025 6/30-7/6 Week in Review

Next week: 2025 7/7-7/13 Week in Review

Previous Week: 2025 6/23-6/29 Week in Review

It was hot all week, in the upper 80s and lower 90s, always very humid.

Monday 6/30

I sold #14 and her black calf, as well as #44 as he had a lot of flies and doesn’t respect my wire. He was 600 lbs and got around $3 per pound.

Tuesday 7/1

Another row, this time 560′-480′.

Wednesday 7/2

Even though we are not in a drought and drought is not expected to develop, I still have plans for drought and I am always watching my grass to tell me when it’s time to sell the animals.

Thursday 7/3

Thinking out loud about how to feed my sheep through the winter.

Friday 7/4

Metal Tag is limping slightly. I don’t know why.

I moved them in the afternoon to a new row: 640′-560′.

Saturday 7/5

Moving the South Poll bull to be with the cows. I’ll keep him on the cows at least until November. The cows that breed back last will be sold.

Sunday 7/6

They don’t seem heat stressed at all even though there is no shade and it is 95 F with humidity.
